15th Edition of the Fitzgerald Prize – June 12, 2026
On the occasion of 15th edition, the jury of the Fitzgerald Prize 2026 gathered for its final deliberation and today unveils the shortlist of novels still in contention. This milestone marks the beginning of a new literary season ahead of the official announcement of the winner, scheduled for June 12, 2026.
Since its creation, the Fitzgerald Prize has established itself as a distinguished fixture in the literary landscape, honoring each year authors whose writing embodies the boldness and timeless modernity so closely associated with Fitzgerald. Founded in 2011 under the initiative of Marianne Estène-Chauvin, President of the Francis Scott Fitzgerald Academy and member of the family owning the iconic Hôtel Belles Rives in Juan-les-Pins, the prize celebrates works distinguished by the elegance of their style and the originality of their perspective on the world, in the spirit of the great American writer.
This year’s selection brings together novels of varied tones and sensibilities, all driven by a shared quest for meaning and a subtle exploration of the contemporary world. The shortlisted writers offer readers a literary experience that is both demanding and captivating.
The award ceremony will take place on June 12, 2026, at the dawn of summer, within the refined setting of Hôtel Belles Rives on the French Riviera — an emblematic place where F. Scott Fitzgerald found both inspiration and serenity. Over the years, the prize has honored major literary and artistic figures including Jay McInerney, Quentin Tarantino, Joyce Carol Oates and William Boyd. Last year, acclaimed American writer Richard Ford received the award for his novel Le Paradis des Fous.
As tradition dictates, this prestigious day concludes with the “Writers’ Dinner,” held in the intimate setting of the hotel’s legendary terraces at Cap d’Antibes. This rocky peninsula bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, with its white jetty facing the islands and its symbolic “Green Light,” remains deeply connected to the Fitzgeraldian imagination and to the inspiration of one of the greatest masters of American literature.
